DKIM Checker

Look up a DKIM selector or discover common selectors, and inspect the key.

About the DKIM Checker

DKIM adds a cryptographic signature to every message. The public key is published in DNS at selector._domainkey.yourdomain. The selector is chosen by your email provider — for example google for Google Workspace or selector1 and selector2 for Microsoft 365.

Enter a selector to check it directly, or let us try the most common selectors. Keys should be RSA 2048-bit (or Ed25519); 1024-bit keys are considered weak.

What is DKIM?

DomainKeys Identified Mail adds a cryptographic signature to every message. The public key is published at <selector>._domainkey.<domain>. The selector is chosen by your email provider and appears in the s= tag of the DKIM-Signature header.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my DKIM selector?

Open a message you sent, view the original headers and look for s= in the DKIM-Signature header. That value is the selector.

Why is my DKIM record not found?

The selector may be wrong, the record may not be published yet, or signing is not enabled at your provider. Check the provider's admin panel.

What DKIM key length should I use?

RSA 2048-bit is the current recommendation. 1024-bit still works but is considered weak.

Does DKIM alone stop spoofing?

No. DMARC tells receivers to reject mail whose DKIM or SPF domain does not align with the From address.
